Woo Hoo, Al Quoz

The newest of all of the spots on this list, Woo Hoo Dubai truly has something for everyone. The space is divided into rooms themed around different elements, play and discovery.

There's a room dedicated to air-play, a walk-through maze complete with various games and puzzles along the way, a water room (with baby-friendly sit-in water play seats – so smart) a wonderfully appointed soft play room for crawlers and babies, cave exploring and dinosaur fossil digging, a fantastic climbing feature, awesome music room and so much more.

There's also kid-friendly bathrooms, an on-site cafe and Tom & Serg is just around the corner. What more could you want? The only downside is it doesn't open until 11am...

Cost: 110AED for 2 hours for 1 adult and 1 child (1yr and above). Additional adult priced at 30AED per person and it's also 30AED for 1 adult and 1 child (0-12 months old).

Opening hours: 11am until 7pm Sat-Weds and 11am until 9pm Thurs-Fri

Location: 1 6A Street, Al Quoz 1, Al Quoz, Dubai

Insider Tips: Socks are required for the soft play area and some of the features are out of service (we assume owing to "just opened" teething issues).

Parent Hive Loves: The non-toxic wooden toys in the soft play area, and the fact that all ages are catered to. There's so much to explore here – 2 hours almost isn't enough!

Kid’s Palooza, Al Quoz

Kid’s Palooza, Al Quoz

Times Square Centre is a bit of a one-stop-shop for parents and little ones and we adore this gem up on the first floor. Lovely wooden Hape toys abound, in a sweet market set up with fruits and veg for a variety of play scenarios.

There is an area dedicated to lego, a modest (but big enough) soft play area, which also houses a dedicated spot within it for tiny tots. It has it’s own cafe* (and free wifi), there are bathrooms on site, and last but not least – there’s a salon serving haircuts for littles and nail treatments for mums and littles.

Cost: 50AED per hour and 25AED for each additional hour.

Opening hours: 9 am until 10 pm (open until midnight on Thursday and Friday).

Location: Times Square Centre, Al Quoz, Dubai

Insider Tips: Check out the lovely Eggs and Soldiers baby shop downstairs for eco and sustainable kid kit. Sadly the cafe isn’t really up to much and serves mediocre coffee and diner-style food. Soft play socks are required.

Parent Hive Loves: The non-toxic wooden Hape toys (which are also available to purchase in the small retail space) and the opportunity to have a play and add on pampering is a fun bonus.

Little Explorers, Dubai Marina & Mirdif

This little gem is full of science-led play, for the curious kid. Explore space, learn about magnets and pop the hood of a replica car to see what makes it run. Plus, add a ‘workshop experience’ for 29AED, like (real) ice cream making, pottery or painting.

There is a small baby/toddler soft play area but it is limited, the activities in the main area are suitable for three years and up, or very curious two-year-olds.

Cost: 79AED for 1 hour (one child and one adult). Or buy a day pass for 149AED.

Operating Hours: Dubai Marina is open 10 am until 8 pm (and closes at the later time of 10 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday). Mirdif is open from 10 am until 10 pm every day.

Location: Level 1, City Centre Mirdif, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, Dubai + Dubai Marina Mall (close to the cinema), Dubai

Insider Tips: There is water play here and protective aprons are provided. Pick up a loyalty card to get a stamp on each visit and accrue enough for a free visit in the near future. Soft play socks are required for the toddler/small baby area.

Parent Hive Loves: The engaging educational element is super fun and makes a nice alternative to more mainstream soft play. At Marina Mall, there are a plethora of shops and restaurants nearby, which means you can make the most of your visit (including nipping to Waitrose or the bank).

Mattel Playtown, Al Safa

This ‘edutainment park’ is divided into five zones, each hosted by one of Mattel’s big names – Fireman Sam, Bob the Builder, Angelina Ballerina, Barney and Thomas the Tank Engine.

Each area has theme-appropriate activities to enjoy, such as climbing and building, dance and engineering – with a playful element of learning and positive messaging. For example, the Thomas The Tank Engine area has an engineering offering and a message about sharing. It’s a big space and there is a lot to move through, so this one is best for the days when you don’t need to rush somewhere else after.

Cost: 69AED for 1 hour and 99AED for 2 hours when booking online in advance

Opening Hours: Saturday until Wednesday 9 am until 8 pm. Thursday 9 am until 9 pm. Friday 10 am until 9 pm.

Parking is in the main City Walk underground parking. Mattel Play Town is suitable for children of 2-10 years of age.

Parent Hive Loves: We love the range of zones and the performance element here, and a chance for little ones to meet their favourite characters.
